On a beautiful sunny morning at Maidenbower Recreation Ground, Willingdon began their assault on the Under 13 League Cup. Although Crawley and Maidenbower’s form going into the tie was not good, they are in the same division as us and so could not be underestimated.
Willingdon dominated the first half in terms of territory but were unable to fashion any clear cut chances. Crawley adopted negative tactics which seemed to involve stopping Jason playing by fair means or foul. They only had one chance from a free kick and somehow finished the first half 1-0 up.
Ian changed Willingdon’s formation at half time and although Jason continued to be given rough treatment, Anthony took advantage of greater freedom down the left flank. He was able to score two individual goals to put us 2-1 ahead.
Rather than disappear as he did against St. Francis, Anthony continued to press home his advantage and turned provider for Oscar twice and Abdul. Keane also scored a superb lobbed goal.
A convincing victory in the end. Final score Crawley and Maidenbower 1 – Willingdon 6.

Hopefully by the messages you can see we’ve had a good day at the office into the hat for round 3 we go … draw is this afternoon 👍⚽️……
I can honestly say I’ve never seen us dominate a team the way we did today if that was a boxing match it would’ve be stopped ages ago ….. so go into the break 1-0 down at time to their only shot was unbelievable… so with a change in formation and a famous half time rant from Gosling ( again ) the boys produced a second half masterclass 👏👏👏….
we have quality all over the pitch currently but there’s 2 people I want to give attention too , 1 Joesph for stepping in to go in goal and did a brilliant job 👏👏👏 but the big one goes to my captain Jason Perinbam, Crawley tried everything today to stop him , they had 4 players marking him , they pulled his shirt / arms and continued to foul him throughout the game …. but not once did Jason react 👏👏👏👏 what a leader 😊⚽️
