Burgess Hill U13s vs. Willingdon Athletic U13s

This was a comfortable victory and was interesting as there was the opportunity to see players in unfamiliar positions.

Firstly thanks to Matthew and Joseph for covering as goalkeeper. Joseph in particular is a very good modern keeper and his distribution with feet to his defenders was excellent. Anthony played both central midfield and left fullback. From centre mid he showed a good range of passing and linked very well with Lewis. At fullback he showed some feisty tackling and again good distribution. I look forward to him overcoming his niggling injury issues.

Of those playing more familiar roles Ollie and Jason linked very well down the right. Ollie hit the post twice and should really score more from the positions he takes up. Matthew scored two good strikers goals, showing selfishness in the right situations.

A clinical display where we had a high percentage of the possession and didn’t look like conceding.

Hello all a rain Soaked Burgess Hill was the opponents today with the grass unplayable at the last minute a quick change to the 3G was needed …..

Before kick off I instructed the boys clean sheet and a professional performance in which they delivered… some great play at times , some over zealous reffing 🤷‍♂️😂 and some fantastic goals ….

Massive thanks for Matthew and Joseph covering for the injured Will 👏👏…. we very comfortable today showing a mature side to our performance a freak of a strike from Anthony got us 1-0 up in break although I’m pretty sure the ref called corner before the ball hit the net🤷‍♂️😂 , after the break we started strong Matthew finishing a good move … Jason heading the 3rd and Jack scoring from the corner to make it 4-0 ( not sure what part of jack it hit first before going over the line 😉 ) ….. last few minutes and Matthew finishes emphatically following a fast break …. good job boys ⚽️👍👏 5-0 full time …..

Player of the match today goes to Ollie Kenward great link up play today definitely he’s best game for Willingdon and so unlucky not to score today hitting both posts 👏👏
